It is an R&D unit of the Laboratory of Robotics and Engineering Systems (LARSyS) which specializes in design of innovative interactive systems and services that harmonise the entanglements between humans, non-humans, and digital technologies.
My role at ITI involves: (Sep. 2023 - Present)

Building and optimizing ML models for energy demand forecasting in distributed energy resources for smart grids.

Creating interactive dashboards and visual reports using tools like Sreamlit and Matplotlib to communicate insights effectively.

Develop FastAPI-based APIs and deploy ML models for real-time forecasting.

Research advanced techniques like federated learning for energy systems.

It is a public institution mandated to coordinate, oversee and promote e-Government initiatives as well as enforce e-Government related policies, laws, regulations, standards and guidelines in public institutions.

Migrated a critical USSD and Messaging monolith to a microservices architecture with Spring Boot.

Enhanced the Government Marine Services eTicketing System using JavaFX and Spring Boot for better performance.

Built a backend engine that converts Flutter UI metadata in JSON format into a fully functional Flutter app.

Vodacom Tanzania is Tanzania’s leading communications company providing a wide range of services for consumers and enterprise including voice, data, messaging, financial services and Enterprise solutions.
My role at Vodacom involved: (Jun. 2021 - Jan. 2023)

Worked on the NaPA project. NaPA, which is a short-term for National Physical Addressing is a project which aims to digitise all the Physical addresses in the country together with all the services that are found in each address.

Developed and maintained data pipeline, ingesting Swahili news data from disparate data sources providing news in Swahili language using web scraping and mongoDB using python.

Created and managed an API which provided news data to a mobile app consumer.

Developed a Swahili news classification algorithm which classified the news (which where not classified from their sources) as they are ingested in our data repo.

Worked on different Machine Learning projects from clients to help companies with data analytics.

Customized LabelImg open source tool so that it is able to perform auto‑labeling using deep learning models.

Created a mobile app to detect banana leaves plant diseases by capturing image of the affected region and processing it using computer vision algorithms.

The University of Dodoma (UDOM) is a public university in central Tanzania located in Dodoma, the country's capital.
My role at the research involved: (Nov. 2018 - Dec. 2019)

An undergraduate researcher where I researched means of detecting Plasmodium parasites from blood smear microscope images using object detection algorithms.

Implemented prototype that can assist lab technicians in detecting plasmodium parasites from blood smear images taken under a microscope.

Presented a poster of the research at the ML4H workshop in NeurIPS 2019.
